The Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank serves individuals and families ​that live in the Issaquah School District boundaries.

Gig Harbor Turkey Trot

In 2003, Tim Holmes' son challenged him to run a marathon with him. The elder Holmes, who owned Holmes Chiropractic, accepted the challenge and put up the first Gig Harbor Turkey Trot that year. In its first year, on Thanksgiving morning, after inviting his friends and patients, about 15 people showed up. In the second year, there were 20 people who showed up. Now, Tim Holmes says, the Thanksgiving morning event has become something of a family tradition for a lot of people. By its 5th year in 2008, 1,600 people from as far as Ohio and India participated in the new tradition. The event raises money and collects food for Peninsula FISH food bank. In addition to supporting the food bank, the event has created scholarships for both Peninsula and Gig Harbor high schools.

Magnuson Run: Thanksgiving

Calling all runners, waddlers and trotters to this year's Turkey Trot. Come gobble up on some miles at Magnuson Park. This trot offers a 5k, 10k and 15k run/walk option. Proceeds will go towards supporting the Teen Feed, this year's featured charity. If you have any food products you want to donate, bring them to the race and they will be donated to the University Food Bank. The race is chip timed, USATF Certified and prizes for top finishers.

Gobble Gobble 5K & 10K

Join the annual Gobble Gobble 5K &10K on Thanksgiving morning at Pierce College Puyallup on South Hill. The race features great prizes and plenty of parking! Be one of the first 200 registrants and receive a unique Turkey Fork medal (and YES you can eat with it)! The next 100 registrants will receive a standard medal. Everyone who is registered (excluding the Giblet Kids Dash) is entered into a great prize drawing. Giblet Kids Dash for ages 4-10 includes medal and race bib. Don't miss the fun!
