Race Information

The Race For A Soldier is a Half-Marathon, 10 Miler and 5K run through the beautiful city of Gig Harbor, Washington. This race brings together the community, military service members and first responders.

Race For A Soldier is more than a run through the scenic Pacific Northwest. It is a race run for hope, for support and a better future for the men and women that serve our country and our communities. This race was founded by a woman who lost her beloved soldier son to struggles with PTSD and TBI cut his life short just one day out of the VA hospital. Sadly, his story is not unique

The Permission To Start Dreaming Foundation knows that soldiers, first responders and firefighters need the community's help. They are creating an epidemic of hope through strength-based programs that are designed to help these men and women rise again, remain strong and be better prepared for what lies ahead. The community relies on their bravery and courage to protect everyone. Race For A Soldier is the community's anchor of hope and way to show gratitude, support, and raise awareness.
