Friends of McCormick's Creek is a non-profit organization and the 5K is a well-organized annual event that benefits park projects aimed at developing and supporting projects and events that help preserve, restore, manage, and interpret the natural and cultural heritage and recreational opportunities of McCormick’s Creek State Park. It also supports educational activities offered free to youth and adults at the park.
Prizes are given to the top 5K overall runners and walkers. Those registering before the cut-off date can receive a race shirt. After the cut-off, shirts are available while supplies last.
